Let’s Talk About Plagiarism

Definition:

plagiarism
noun

Ah, plagiarism - such a dirty word. Sadly, having now been alerted to several examples of other Virtual Assistants copying my work and passing it off as their own, I feel that this needs to be addressed.

It’s a beautiful thing that there are now so many budding VA’s. I salute your bravery and tenacity to take the leap in to the self-employed world!

However, I would like to speak directly to the Virtual Assistants who have taken it upon themselves to copy text and design from my website and branding. I am honoured that you feel my work deserves copying, but please understand that it is my work. My words are my own - they do not belong to you and neither does the copyright. I will, of course, be raising this with you directly, but I ask you to look within and question how comfortable you really are in knowing that you have copied another VA’s work and are presenting it to the world as your own.

Please respect the time, creativity and love that it took to craft my words, website and branding, and moreover that it is authentic to ME. And most of all, please understand that this is my online space, and have the courage and self-belief to find YOUR own authentic voice and brand for your own online space.

Thank you, and I truly wish you well on your VA journey x
